Terms and Conditions of Sale
(updated on 18/10/2026)
Article 1: Scope, Seller identification
These terms and conditions of sale (T&C) apply to all orders for products placed on the website www.tatamiportable.com, an authorised sales agent for the sole trader:
Il Fiore d’Oriente di Bernardo Corvi
Borgo dei Segantini, 8 – 43037 Lesignano de’ Bagni (PR) – Italy
VAT number: IT02528570340
Email: info@fioreoriente.com – Phone: +33 6 51 72 94 35
In these T&C:
- “the Customer” means any person making a purchase on the Website; a “Consumer Customer” means a Customer acting for purposes outside their trade, business or profession;
- “the Company” means Il Fiore d’Oriente di Bernardo Corvi;
- “the Products” means the products offered on the Website and supplied by the Company;
- “the Website” means the website www.tatamiportable.com.
Online sales are reserved for end users, private or professional, to the exclusion of traders, wholesalers and resellers wishing to resell the Products to third parties.
Sales to Consumer Customers are governed by the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree No. 206/2005), which implements Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights.
Article 2: Acceptance of the T&C
The Customer confirms that they have read and accepted these T&C by ticking the relevant box before confirming their order.
These T&C prevail over any other terms, unless otherwise agreed in advance, expressly and in writing, by the Company. They are available at all times on the Website. The T&C applicable to an order are those in force at the time the order is placed.
Article 3: Order, Price, Availability
Prices are quoted in euros and are final prices: the Company operates under the Italian flat-rate scheme (regime forfettario) and its sales are made without VAT (Article 1, paragraphs 54–89, Italian Law No. 190/2014). Delivery and insurance costs are included for all destinations served (Article 5).
For deliveries to European Economic Area countries outside the European Union, import duties or taxes may be charged on delivery; these are payable by the Customer.
The Products are handmade to order.
Before confirming their order, the Customer sees a summary showing each Product, its unit price and the total amount. After confirming, the Customer receives an email acknowledging the order with its reference number and summary, then, once payment has been accepted, an email confirming that preparation has begun.
The Company reserves the right to cancel an order in the event of fraudulent use of payment methods or attempted fraud.
Article 4: Payment
Payment is made online by payment card (debit or credit card) through a secure payment provider. Card details are encrypted and are never accessible to the Company.
The Customer’s account is debited when the order is confirmed.
Article 5: Delivery
Products are delivered only to countries of the European Union and the European Economic Area, to the address provided by the Customer when ordering.
Except in the event of stock shortage or force majeure, delivery takes place within a maximum of 15 working days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays) from confirmation of the order. Deliveries may be split.
Parcels are wrapped in transparent film and sealed with adhesive tape.
On delivery, the Customer is invited to check the condition of the parcel. If it is damaged, torn or open, the Customer should check the Products and, if they are damaged, refuse the parcel or note specific reservations on the carrier’s delivery slip, then inform the Company as soon as possible. These steps help with claims against the carrier and do not limit the Consumer Customer’s statutory rights in any way.
The risk of loss of or damage to the Products passes to the Consumer Customer when they, or a third party designated by them other than the carrier, take physical possession of the Products.
Article 6: Legal guarantee of conformity
The Products are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity provided for in Articles 128 et seq. of the Italian Consumer Code.
The Company is liable to the Consumer Customer for any lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery and becoming apparent within two years of delivery. Unless proven otherwise, any lack of conformity that becomes apparent within one year of delivery is presumed to have existed at the time of delivery. The Consumer Customer must report the defect within two months of discovering it.
In the event of a lack of conformity, the Consumer Customer is entitled, free of charge, to repair or replacement of the Product, including shipping costs. Failing this, they may obtain a price reduction or termination of the contract, under the conditions provided by law.
The guarantee does not cover damage resulting from misuse, negligence, lack of maintenance contrary to the instructions provided, accident or normal wear and tear.
To claim under the guarantee, the Customer writes to info@fioreoriente.com stating their order number, a description of the defect and, if possible, photos. The Company will then provide the return instructions.
For professional Customers, the guarantee is governed by Articles 1490 et seq. of the Italian Civil Code.
Article 7: Satisfaction Guarantee
In addition to the statutory guarantees, the Company offers all its Customers, consumers and professionals alike, a commercial “Satisfaction Guarantee”.
If the Customer is not completely satisfied with a Product, they may return it within 30 days of receipt, after notifying the Company at info@fioreoriente.com.
The Product must be returned complete, clean and in good condition. Return shipping costs are paid by the Customer.
The Company refunds the price of the Product and the original delivery costs within 14 days of receiving the returned Product, using the same payment method as the original order.
This commercial guarantee does not limit or replace the right of withdrawal (Article 8) or the legal guarantee of conformity (Article 6).
Article 8: Right of withdrawal
The Consumer Customer has 14 days to withdraw from the contract without giving any reason and without incurring any costs other than those set out below.
This period runs from the day on which the Consumer Customer, or a third party designated by them other than the carrier, takes physical possession of the Product. For orders of several Products delivered separately, it runs from receipt of the last Product.
To exercise this right, the Consumer Customer must inform the Company of their decision by an unequivocal statement, by email to info@fioreoriente.com or by post to the address given in Article 1. They may use the withdrawal form below, but this is not mandatory.
The Consumer Customer must return the Product, together with a copy of the delivery note, no later than 14 days after communicating their decision, to:
Il Fiore d’Oriente – Borgo dei Segantini, 8 – 43037 Lesignano de’ Bagni (PR) – Italy
The direct cost of returning the Product is borne by the Consumer Customer.
The Company refunds all payments received, including the original delivery costs (based on standard delivery), no later than 14 days from the day on which it is informed of the decision to withdraw. The refund is made using the same payment method as the original order, at no cost to the Customer. The Company may withhold the refund until it has received the Product back or until the Customer has supplied proof of having sent it, whichever is earlier.
The Consumer Customer is liable only for any diminished value of the Product resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.
Article 9: Protection of personal data
The Customer’s personal data is processed by the Company, as data controller, for the purpose of fulfilling orders and complying with legal obligations, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
The Customer has the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to the processing of and port their data. They may exercise these rights by writing to info@fioreoriente.com and may lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
For more information, see our Privacy Policy.
Article 10: Force majeure
The Company shall not be held liable where failure to perform its obligations is attributable to an unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party to the contract or to force majeure, including:
- state of emergency;
- natural disaster (earthquake, storm, flood, mudslide, fire, etc.);
- adverse weather conditions;
- strike;
- revolution, war, terrorist attack;
- epidemic;
- malfunction or interruption of national or international transport links or postal services.
Article 11: Governing law, Disputes
These T&C are governed by Italian law. This choice does not deprive the Consumer Customer of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence.
In the event of a problem, the Customer is invited to contact the Company first at info@fioreoriente.com to seek an amicable solution. The Consumer Customer may also use a consumer mediation procedure free of charge.
Failing agreement, jurisdiction is determined in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012. The Consumer Customer may bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence.
